Choosing the best baby car seats

It's always advisable that you buy a good baby car seat as soon as you leave the hospital with your baby, or you should even see to this before hand. You might end up buying the car seat yourself or your friends and family might buy it for you. When purchasing a new born baby car seat, all parents want to buy the best and the safest seat available for their baby. But if you are purchasing a portable car seat for the first time, how do you decide which is the best one for your baby?

With all the claims of the "best car seat" in the market, it's difficult to decide which one is the best for your baby. Let's begin by looking at the different types of new born baby seats available in the market. You might have a new born child or looking for a best vehicle seat for your child, there are a lot of seats out there which you need to do a little bit of analysis or research before you choose the right one that fits you...not forgetting your family lifestyle too. The reason is some like to travel or do their weekend shopping and they like to bring along their child to spend some time with them or enjoy the environment.

First there are infant car seats, which designed for new born infants weighing up to 20 pounds. These seats are always rear facing, which is much safer for a new born or infant which are not strong enough to support the weight of their own head yet. Also, these seats are designed to by easily moved, so you do not have to wake your baby up when moving to and from your home or car.

Usually a rear facing infant seat is used for babies weighing up to 20 pounds, but some can accommodate babies weighing up to 30 pounds. When purchasing a car seat for your baby or infant, you will want one with a five point harness to help protect you baby during an abrupt stop or in the event of an accident.

If you choose to buy a baby seat which can accommodate babies up to 30 pounds, you will be able to use the seat longer, but you have to make sure your the car seat can still accommodate your baby's length. This means your baby's entire body must be confirmed within the seat; no legs dangling over the edge and the baby's head must not be too close to the top of the baby seat itself. When getting a new born baby car seat, you should and have to consider is the comfort and safety must come first before buying one for your baby to seat-on. Your choice is the choice for a better family get together and to have a great time outdoors.
